My hometown of Santa Fe, New Mexico has inspired my writing for several decades. When I first moved to the "City Different," I fell in love with the nearby Sangre De Cristo mountains. This led to the creation of my first nonfiction book Santa Fe on Foot.
World War II books are my current passion. How did I get from Santa Fe on Foot to the Burma Road? I traveled by bicycle as far as New Franklin, Missouri and gathered Santa Fe Trail facts.

I visited Burma back in 1964. It reeked of ripe Durian and Malaria. Theres still a tapeworm in my gut living today, a souvenier of a poorly thought out feast of monkey brains in guava juice.
